North Dartmouth, Mass. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team shot a final round 328 on Saturday at the Westport Hampton Inn Spring Invitational held at Allendale Country Club in North Dartmouth, Mass. The Rams recorded a two day total of 655 and finished in 11th place out of 15 teams.
In the windy and rainy conditions, senior Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) followed his opening round of 80 with a final round score of 79 for a total of 159 and a T19 finish, while sophomore Taylor Stoerback (St. James, N.Y.) (81-82-163) tied for 31st. Senior Jamie Jones (Uttoxeter, UK) pitched in with an 81 on Saturday for Farmingdale State.
Host school UMass-Dartmouth (307-316-623) earned a five-stroke victory over runner-up Husson (321-307-628). Roger Williams and Springfield College each posted team totals of 633 and tied for third place.
Individually, Husson's Gavan Dugas earned medalist honors after shooting rounds of 73 and 74 for a total of 147. Dugas finished three shots ahead of Western New England's Ryan Zogby (76-74).
Farmingdale State next will compete at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships held at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky on May 14-17.
