Baiting Hollow, N.Y. - For the third consecutive season and 11th time in school history, the Farmingdale State men's golf team won the Skyline Conference Championship. Senior Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) fired a final round and tournament-low score of 75 today for a two-day total of 160 to claim individual medalist honors.

The Rams followed an opening round 352 with a 325 this afternoon for a two-day total of 667 and a 28-stroke victory over runner-up Mount Saint Mary (350-355-705) at the Baiting Hollow Golf Club. Host school St. Joseph's-LI took third place with a total of 717 (365-352).

Fischer was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after the victory. The only other back-to-back Player of the Year recipient in Skyline history was FSC's Adam Larkin in 2012 and 2013. Larkin, who was a four-year member of the Rams, was named Skyline Player of the Year a conference-record three times.

Farmingdale State junior Brian Crawford (Stormville, N.Y.) (87-85-172) and sophomore Taylor Stoerback (St. James, N.Y.) (88-84-172) each tied for fourth place and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Senior Jamie Jones (Uttoxeter, UK) (92-83-175) was named to the Second Team after a T7 finish.

Mount Saint Vincent's Devin Mendez was the runner-up and Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year after rounds of 89 and 78 for a total of 167. Joe Tantillo (St. Joe's) (86-85-171) took third place individually.

Farmingdale State has earned the conference’s automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky in May.
