Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Saratoga National Invitational

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - In the final round of the Saratoga National Invitational hosted by Skidmore College, the Farmingdale State men's golf team shot 314 today and posted a two day total of 637. The Rams finished in eighth place out of nine teams at the tournament.

Junior Brian Crawford (Stormville, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with a T20 finish after a final round 75 (+3) and a two day total of 154. Senior Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.), who opened with a 78 yesterday, carded another 78 this afternoon and tied for 26th place individually.

Babson College (298-292) and Trinity (CT) (297-293) each finished with totals of 590 but Babson claimed the championship on the fifth score tiebreaker. RPI (592) and Middlebury (595) finished in third and fourth place, respectively.

Will Rosenfield of Trinity (CT) earned medalist honors after posting scores of 72 and 67 for a 5-under par total of 139. Rosenfield finished four strokes in front of both Reid Buzby (Middlebury) and Sam Goldenring (Williams).

Farmingdale State next will compete in the Skyline Conference Championship at the Baiting Hollow Club on Sunday, October 21st and Monday, October 22nd.
