FSC Athletics Fall Update #4

- Fischer, Khare and Lettieri named Player's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #4 on Monday, September 24, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Men's Golf Update - Skyline Full Report

The men's golf team placed seventh out of 12 teams after posting scores of 308 and 296 at the 2018 Montgomery Cup hosted by Rosemont College at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort.

Senior Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Fischer claimed the award for the second straight week after posting a 1-under par total of 143 (72-71) and a T7 finish at the 2018 Montgomery Cup.

This week the Rams host their Fall Invitational at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course on Friday at 11:00 a.m.

 

Women's Soccer Update (5-2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their lone game last week, FSC blanked Western Connecticut State, 1-0, on Wednesday night.

Senior midfielder Allison Khare (Deer Park, N.Y.) earned Skyline Player of the Week honors after scoring the only goal in the 34th minute of FSC's 1-0 victory at WCSU.

The women's soccer team will play a pair of conference games this week: Wednesday at Mount Saint Vincent @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Old Westbury @ noon.

 

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

At the Bard Raptors Invitational, the men placed ninth, while the women finished in 11th place.

Junior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week. She was the top Skyline finisher at Saturday's Bard Invitational, placing third with a 6k time of 24:34.5.

This week Farmingdale State will travel to Milton, N.Y. on Saturday for the Mount Saint Mary College Knight Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome. 

 

Women's Tennis Update (6-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The Rams posted a 2-1 record last week with non-conference wins over both Brooklyn College (7-2) and SUNY Delhi (9-0).

Senior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after going 2-1 at doubles and 2-1 at #4 singles in FSC's three matches.

The women's tennis team will play three matches this week: Wednesday vs. St. Joseph's-LI @ 6:00 p.m., Friday at Baruch @ 3:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 9:00 a.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (4-4, 0-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State was 1-2 last week with a win at Hartwick (2-0) and losses to both Manhattanville (4-0) and Old Westbury (2-0). This week the Rams will square off against St. Joe's-Brkln on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at the St. Joseph's-LI outdoor athletic complex.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (3-12, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's volleyball team fell, 3-0, to Hunter College and Moravian in their two matches last week. FSC is scheduled to play four matches this week: Tuesday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Sarah Lawrence @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Franklin & Marshall @ 10:00 a.m. / Stockton (at Franklin & Marshall) @ 12:30 p.m.
