- Ford named Player of the Week - 


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #1 on Tuesday, September 4, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Soccer Update (2-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The FSC women's soccer team opened the season with a 1-0 double OT win versus Buffalo State and a 1-0 OT victory over RPI.

Senior goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. She posted pair of clean-sheet victories in extra time for the Rams, who took down Buffalo State and host Rensselaer by identical 1-0 counts in as many days. Six of seven saves on the weekend came versus the host Engineers. Freshman forward Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) claimed a spot on the Honor Roll after scoring both game-winning goals. With 5:57 remaining in double overtime versus Buffalo State, she converted a penalty kick and the next day against RPI, Martinez sent home the winning goal only 46 seconds into overtime.

This week the Rams will play three non-conference games: Wednesday vs. Trinity (Conn.) @ 6:00 p.m., Saturday vs. Kean (at Misericordia) @ 4:00 p.m. and Sunday vs. Rochester Institute of Technology (at Misericordia) @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (0-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State fell, 4-0, in their season opener at Penn State-Harrisburg last weekend. This week FSC is slated to play a pair of non-conference home games: Wednesday vs. Brooklyn @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. FDU-Florham @ noon.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (1-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In FSC's four matches at the Haverford Invitational, the Rams fell to Bethany (WV) (3-0), Haverford (3-0), Bard (3-2) and Goucher (3-0).

Senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after hitting .329 on the weekend with 29 kills, 35 digs and six total blocks.

The women's volleyball team next will play four matches at the Wheaton (Mass.) Invitational this coming weekend.

 

Women's Tennis Update (0-1, 0-0 Skyline)

Farmingdale State opened the 2018 season with a home non-conference match against Plattsburgh State and fell, 8-1. This week FSC will play three non-conference matches: Wednesday at William Paterson @ 5:00 p.m., Thursday vs. Brooklyn @ 4:30 p.m. and Saturday vs. John Jay @ 1:00 p.m.

The Rams begin their 2018 season at the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday, September 8th.

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team kicks off the 2018 season at the MSMC Skyline Invitational at The Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. on Friday, September 14th.
