Downingtown, Penn. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team entered today's final round of the Rosemont Raven Invitational tied for third and posted a team total of 325 to finish in fourth place out of 15 teams. The final round was held at the par 72 Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Penn.
In the cold and windy conditions, FSC senior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) posted a team-best 79 this morning for a two day total of 151 and a T2 finish. Juniors Joe Itzkowitz (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) carded rounds of 80 and 82, respectively, while freshman Nicholas Aurrichio (Nesconset, N.Y.) followed his opening round of 74 with an 84.
York (PA) (283-325-608) claimed the team title after finishing nine strokes ahead of runner-up Swarthmore (295-322-617). Rosemont (298-321-619) took third and FSC (298-325-623) placed fourth in the event.
Individually, Tyler Newton (69-79-148) of York (PA) earned medalist honors after recording a three-stroke victory over Goldman, Kyle Henofer (Arcadia University) and Vamsi Damerla (Swarthmore).
The men's golf team next will travel to Ballston Spa Country Club in Ballston Spa, N.Y. for the Skidmore College Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd.
