Honey Brook, Penn. - In the first round of the Rosemont Raven Invitational held on the Par 70 Honeybrook Golf Club, the Farmingdale State men's golf team shot a 298 and are currently tied for third place out of 15 teams.

Senior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the Rams and is tied for fifth individually after shooting a team-best score of 72. He birdied the first two holes of the round en route to a 1-under par 34 on the front and followed with a 38 on the back for his 72. Freshman Nicholas Aurrichio (Nesconset, N.Y.) fired a career-best round of 74 and is currently tied for 12th place, while juniors Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) and Jack Truncale (Nesconset, N.Y.) each posted rounds of 76. Junior Joe Itzkowitz (Smithtown, N.Y.) pitched in with an day one score of 77 for Farmingdale State.

York (PA) recorded an opening round team total of 283 (+3) and currently lead Swathmore (295) by 12 strokes. Farmingdale State (298) and host school Rosemont (298) are 15 shots off the lead heading into the final round.

Individually, Tyler Newton (69) of York (PA) holds a one-stroke lead over teammate Joel Marshall and Swarthmore's Michael Brown.

Tomorrow's final round, which is an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, will take place at Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, Penn.
