New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #5 on Monday, October 9, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

At the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge held at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J., the women placed third, while the men took sixth.

For the second straight week, sophomore James O'Brien (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for the men. O'Brien posted a third place finish individually in a race that featured both Division II and III runners as he completed the 8K course in 26:57.8.

For the women, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded a sixth place finish in 19:17.9 and was tabbed to the Honor Roll.

This week the cross country teams will head to Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y. for the 18th Annual St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday.

 

Women's Soccer Update (6-5-2, 4-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted Skyline victories over both St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (7-0) and Purchase (6-1) last week, while also dropping a non-conference match, 2-0, to #4 Williams College.

Senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Howard tallied her first collegiate hat trick on Tuesday against St. Joe's-Bklyn and now has 34 career goals, moving to third place all-time at FSC.

This week Farmingdale State will play three conference games: Wednesday vs. Maritime @ 4:00 p.m., Saturday vs. St. Joseph's-LI (Senior Day) @ 12:00 p.m. and Sunday at Yeshiva (at Rutgers-Newark) @ 4:00 p.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (12-7, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In four non-conference matches last week, FSC was undefeated, earning wins versus York (NY) (3-0), William Paterson (3-2), Delaware Valley (3-0) and Staten Island (3-0).

Senior middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the team with 2.86 kills per set and 17 total blocks. Cadle-Hinton set a new career-high with 20 kills at William Paterson and currently ranks 14th in the nation for blocks per set (1.14).

The women's volleyball team is slated to play two conference matches this week: Thursday at St. Joseph's-LI @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Purchase @ 10:00 a.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (5-4, 2-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team fell in their only game of the week versus Maritime on Tuesday, 2-0.

This week the Rams will play two Skyline Conference games: Wednesday at Sarah Lawrence (@ Tibbetts Brook Park Field 3) @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday versus Mount Saint Mary at 2:30 p.m. for Senior Day.

 

Women's Tennis Update (6-7, 3-3 Skyline) - Full Report

In a pair of conference matches last week, the Rams were 1-1, dropping a match, 6-3, at Mount Saint Mary before sweeping Sarah Lawrence, 9-0, at home.

This week FSC will travel to John Jay on Thursday for a non-conference match at 4:00 p.m.

 

Men's Golf Update

In their FSC Skyline Invitational at Bethpage State Park - Red on Friday, the Rams earned a 36-stroke victory after posting a team total of 290.

Sophomore Gary Cohan (Kings Park, N.Y.) recorded his first career win after shooting a 1-over par 71 and junior Jack Truncale (Nesconset, N.Y.) fired a career-best round of 72 for a second place finish.

Farmingdale State travels to the Mount Saint Mary College Skyline Invitational at the Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. on Friday, October 13th.
