- Ford, Stern and Cadle-Hinton named Player's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #1 on Monday, September 11, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Soccer Update (2-2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's soccer team posted a 2-1 mark in three non-conference games with victories over #9 Trinity (CT) and Ithaca.

Sophomore goalkeeper Daniella Ford (Elmont, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Ford registered a .846 save percentage in a 2-1 week for the Rams. She made a career-best 13 stops in the 2-1 midweek victory at Trinity (CT), who was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Poll. Ford also turned aside six shots in a 2-1 triumph over Ithaca at the Misericordia Tournament.

This week FSC will play their first two homes games of the season when they host Scranton on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and SUNY Geneseo on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State registered a 2-0 victory at FDU-Florham in their only contest of the week.

Senior goalie Daniel Stern (Kings Park, N.Y.) earned Skyline Player of the Week honors. Stern lifted the Rams to a 2-0 win at FDU-Florham by turning aside all six Devils shots on target. He owns a 2-0 record with 11 saves in as many shots on goal this season.

The men's soccer team will open Skyline Conference play on Saturday, September 16th at Purchase @ 11:00 a.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (2-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team opened the week with a 3-1 win at Western Connecticut before falling to Manhattanville and Ramapo at their home tri-match.

Senior middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Cadle-Hinton set school single-match records for assisted (nine) and total (12) blocks Wednesday versus Western Connecticut. On the three-match week, she hit .258, while averaging 2.08 kills, 2.08 digs and 1.92 total blocks per set.

This week FSC will play three non-conference road matches: Tuesday at Lehman @ 6:00 p.m., and Saturday at Misericordia @ 10:00 a.m. and vs. Cairn (at Misericordia) @ 2:00 p.m.

 

Women's Tennis Update (0-3, 0-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 0-2 last week with losses at Brooklyn (5-4) and Yeshiva (8-1).

Junior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a 2-0 mark at #2 doubles and a 1-1 record at third singles.

The women's tennis team will play three home matches this week: Tuesday vs. William Paterson @ 5:00 p.m., Wednesday vs. Hunter @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Baruch @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Cross Country Update - Men's Full Report  - Women's Full Report

At the Purchase College Invitational, the women claimed the team title, while the men recorded a sixth place finish.

The women were led by Honor Roll recipient Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) who took third place individually in 24:34.74. Sophomore James O'Brien (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll for the men after also finishing third in 27:56.74.

This week the cross country teams will compete at the Bard Raptors Invitational on Saturday in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.

 

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team opens the 2017 fall season this weekend at the Penn State Harrisburg Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Harrisburg.
