Ballston Spa, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team shot an opening round 310 at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College at Ballston Spa Country Club. The Rams are in fifth place out of 11 teams.

FSC was led by sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) who carded a 3-over par 74 and is tied for eighth place. Sophomore Jack Truncale (Nesconset, N.Y.) and junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) shot 75 and 77, respectively.

Freshman Gary Cohan (Kings Park, N.Y.), who is competing as an individual, is T4 after posting a 2-over par round of 73.

St. Thomas Aquinas (290) holds a three stroke lead over second place Skidmore College.

Skidmore's Mackenzie Nelson is the individual leader after his first round 71.

The final round will begin tomorrow morning.
