Bloomfield, N.J. - Farmingdale State sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) followed his opening round of 73 with a day two score of 75 to win the NYU Spring Invitational by three strokes at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J.
The Rams entered Sunday's final round with a two shot lead and posted a team total of 324 finish the tournament in a tie for fourth place. Trinity (Conn.) (314-304-618), Skidmore (320-301-621) and Williams (314-314-628) took first, second and third place, respectively.
Fischer, who claimed his first career victory, finished three shots ahead of runner-up Mitchell Campbell from Skidmore.
FSC junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) recorded a two-day total of 157 (77-80) and placed 11th individually.
The men's golf team next will travel to Bellport Country Club in Bellport, N.Y. for the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship on Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th.
