Bloomfield, N.J. - Sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) fired a day one low 73 as the Farmingdale State men's golf team leads by two after the first round of the NYU Spring Invitational at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. The Rams posted a team total of 312 and are two strokes in front of both Williams and Trinity (Conn.).
Junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) is tied for seventh place after shooting a six-over par 77 and senior Matt Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) (T12) carded a 78 for the Rams.
Fischer holds a one stroke lead over Jensen Li of NYU, while Trinity's Will Rosenfield (75) is two shots back.
Tomorrow's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
