Farmingdale, N.Y. - For the ninth time in school history, the Farmingdale State men's golf team captured the Skyline Conference Championship. The Rams entered today's final round with a 14-stroke lead and posted a day two score of 308 to finish 20 shots ahead of runner-up Mount Saint Mary.

Farmingdale State was led by Skyline Conference Player and Rookie of the Year Ryan Scanlon (Huntington Station, N.Y.) who earned medalist honors with a two-day total of 145 (70-75). Junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) followed his opening round of 75 with a 76 today for a T4 finish, while senior Matt Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) placed sixth (74-78). Sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) finished in eighth place (159) and sophomore Ryan Reed (East Northport, N.Y.), who did not play yesterday, recorded a 79 for the Rams.

Mount Saint Mary's Owen Heath (76-71) was the runner-up and Michael Nadeau of St. Joe's took third with rounds of 78 and 72.

Farmingdale State claimed the Skyline's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on May 16-19, 2017.
