Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team, for the fourth time in school history, posted a team total of 289 as they earned a nine-stroke victory over Mount Saint Mary College this afternoon at the FSC Skyline Invitational.

The Rams were led by senior Matt Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who posted a career-best round of 69 (-1). Burnett was tied with Owen Heath of Mount Saint Mary after 18 holes and on the first playoff hole hit an 8-iron from 151 yards to eight feet for the eventual birdie and individual medalist honors.

Freshman Ryan Scanlon (Huntington Station, N.Y.) finished tied for third place after a one-over par 71, while junior Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) took sixth with a 74. Sophomore Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) carded a 75 and freshman Gary Cohan (Kings Park, N.Y.) rounded out the Farmingdale State lineup with a 78 (T9).

The Rams next will travel to the Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y. for the MSMC Invitational on Friday, October 7th.
