2016 Men's Golf Spring Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's golf team was led by senior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) who was named All-Northeast Region after posting a school record scoring average of 73.31 this season.

The Rams opened the spring with an 11th place finish at the NYU Invitational and Sessions was T5 after rounds of 77 and 73. The following weekend at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational, Farmingdale State took seventh as Sessions (75-69) finished in fourth place individually.

Sessions won with Farmingdale State Spring Invitational by three shots with scores of 73 and 69, while junior Matt Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) (81-73) and freshman Ryan Reed (East Northport, N.Y.) (77-81) finished 11th and 16th, respectively.

The Rams closed the season with a victory at Long Island Intercollegiate Championship after finishing 25 strokes ahead of runner-up St. Joe's. Sessions tallied his second straight win with rounds of 78 and 71 and freshman Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) (76-82) recorded a career-best T5 finish.

The Rams graduated four seniors this year.
