Bellport, N.Y. - In their final tournament of the season, the Farmingdale State men's golf team posted an opening round of 311 at the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship hosted by St. Joseph's at Bellport Country Club.

The Rams were led by senior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) and freshman Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) who each carded round one 76's and are tied for second place individually. Senior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) recorded a first day score of 78 and is tied for fifth place.

Seniors Chris Brosi (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Dillon Flynn (Plainedge, N.Y.) closed out their four-year careers with rounds of 81 and 89, respectively.

Farmingdale State holds an 11-stroke lead over St. Joe's heading into tomorrow's final round.

Ross Moore of Nassau CC is the individual leader after shooting a three-over par 74.
