Sayville, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team posted a two day total of 644 to defeat St. Joseph's and Nassau Community College in a tri-match held on Friday and Sunday.

At Bethpage Red on Friday, the Rams were led by senior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) who posted a 77, while freshmen Joe Itzkowitz (St. James, N.Y.) and Ryan Reed (East Northport, N.Y.) each shot 78.

Nassau CC's Ross Moore led the way with an even par round of 70.

At Island Hills on Sunday, freshman Chris Fischer (Mineola, N.Y.) recorded the second best round of the day with a 78.

Farmingdale State finished 23 strokes ahead of runner-up Nassau Community College.

Nassau's Chris Lambrou used back-to-back 76's to earn a one shot victory over Moore.

The golf team next will head back to Island Hills Country Club for the Golden Eagle Invitational on Friday, October 2nd.
