Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #2

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #2 on Monday, September 14, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball

Women's Tennis Update (4-1, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team posted a perfect 3-0 record last week with wins over Hunter, Sage and Brooklyn.

Freshman Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. La Monica earned three victories at sixth singles and added a pair of wins in the No. 3 doubles position. She registered a 6-1, 6-2 decision on September 9 in the Rams' 7-2 win over Hunter and posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory on September 12 as FSC garnered a 9-0 win versus Sage. La Monica notched a 6-0, 6-3 victory on September 13 in the Rams' 6-3 win against Brooklyn.

Junior Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after a pair of wins at #2 singles.

Farmingdale State will travel to Brooklyn on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and close out the week with a home match versus The New School on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The first week of the season Rosamilia earned Skyline Player of the Week honors. She recorded a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 2 singles and added an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles as Farmingdale State earned an 8-1 victory over William Paterson on September 5. For weekly report #1, click HERE.

Women's Soccer Update (2-1-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC traveled to #25 Ithaca for their lone game last week and fell, 2-0. This week the women's soccer team will play a pair of home non-conference games: Saturday vs. Scranton - 1:00 p.m. and Sunday vs. SUNY Geneseo - 11:00 a.m.

In the season opening week, senior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Alyssa Parrotta (Centereach, N.Y.) were named to the Honor Roll. Thompson compiled three points on the week and scored the game-winning goal on September 5 in the 3-1 victory over Buffalo State, while Parrotta tallied the game-winner on September 1 against Western Connecticut State. Men's Golf Update

The Rams opened the 2015 season with a victory at the Old Westbury Skyline Invitational at Spring Lake Golf Club. The Rams posted a team total of 306 and edged runner-up St. Joseph's by two strokes. Senior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) earned a second place finish after a 2-over par 74.

This week the golf team will host the FSC Skyline Invitational at Bethpage Red on Friday and head to Dauphin Highlands Golf Course on Sunday and Monday for the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational.

Men's Soccer Update (2-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

After starting the season 0-3, the Rams rebounded with back-to-back wins over Medgar Evers and The College of Staten Island.

This week Farmingdale State will travel to Purchase for their first conference game of the season on Saturday at noon.

Women's Volleyball Update (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team played one match last week and fell, 3-2, at John Jay. This week the Rams will host Sarah Lawrence in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. before three straight road games: Thursday @ New Rochelle - 7:00 p.m., Saturday @ Manhattanville - 11:00 a.m. and Saturday vs. William Paterson (@ Manhattanville) - 1:00 p.m.

In the first week of the season, junior outside Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Hickey averaged 3.50 kills and 2.50 digs in a 1-1 week for the Rams. To view weekly report #1, click HERE.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The cross country teams competed at the Division I Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial held at Van Cortlandt Park on September 12. The men placed seventh, while the women finished in 12th.

This week the cross country teams will compete at the LIU Post Invitational on Saturday, September 19.
