Greensboro, N.C. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team posted a 313 on the East Course in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championships at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The Rams are currently tied for 30th place out of 41 teams.

Junior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) led Farmingdale State with an opening round of 77, while senior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) carded a 78 after chipping in for birdie on the 18th hole. Senior Rocco Costa (Massapequa, N.Y.) and junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) each shot round one scores of 79 this morning.

Methodist University and Redlands are tied for first place after posting team-total's of 284 (-4).

Individually, Kelby Scharmann (66) of La Verne holds a one stroke lead over LaGrange's Cory Howard (67) and Bobby Holden (67) of Redlands. 

The Rams begin play tomorrow at noon on the West Course.

The field will be cut from 41 to 15 teams after tomorrow's second round.
