2014 Men's Golf Fall Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The men's golf team earned an eight stroke victory over runner-up St. Joseph's to capture their seventh consecutive Skyline Conference Title at Bethpage Red. The Rams clinched a berth to the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships to be held at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. on May 12-15.

Senior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) and junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) were both named First Team All-Conference, while sophomore Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and junior Matt Adwar (Holbrook, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors for their finishes at the Skyline Championship.

The Rams opened the season with a 43-stroke victory over St. Joe's at Montauk Downs State Park as Pollock led the way with a tournament-low 149 (+5). Farmingdale State followed with a 33-shot win at the Golden Eagle Invitational held at Island Hills Country Club where Adwar carded a career-low round of 70 (-1).

After a runner-up finish at the 12-team Dowling College September Shootout, the Rams captured their own invitational at Bethpage Red with a team total of 297.

Sessions led Farmingdale State to a second place finish at the NYU/Manhattanville Fall Invitational as he posted rounds of 74 and 72 (146).

The Rams return their entire roster with the addition of junior Chris Brosi (Stony Brook, N.Y.) for the spring season. The golf team will take their annual trip to Orange County National Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. March 17-22.
