Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #7

- Sickles named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #7 on Monday, October 27, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team captured their seventh consecutive Skyline Conference Championship after earning an 8-stroke victory over runner-up St. Joe's.

The Rams receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Women's Tennis Update (13-1, 6-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team earned a 5-0 win over St. Joseph's to capture their second consecutive Skyline Title. The Rams now receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament in the spring.

Senior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Sickles earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision at #1 singles and added an 8-4 win at #1 doubles in the Skyline Championship. She was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for her efforts. Sickles improves to 11-2 at #1 singles in 2014 as she claimed her fourth Skyline Player of the Week citation of the season.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

At the Skyline Championship held at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y., both the men's and women's teams recorded a 6th place finish. The men were led by sophomore Jacob Kashani (Roslyn, N.Y.) who took 22nd place individually, while the women were led by junior Carina Bonilla's (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) 23rd place finish.

Women's Soccer Update (11-5-3, 6-0-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 1-1 record last week with a 4-2 win over Old Westbury and a 3-0 loss versus #1 Messiah.

Junior forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after a pair of goals and two assists in the win over Old Westbury. She now has 39 career goals, which is the Farmingdale State school record.

This week the women's soccer team will close out the regular season when they travel to Maritime on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (13-18, 5-4 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State earned 3-0 shutout victories over Medgar Evers and Maritime last week.

Senior opposite Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after leading the way for the Rams with 15 kills, 12 digs and 11 aces on the week. She had six kills and nine aces versus Medgar Evers and added nine kills and 10 digs against Maritime.

The Rams next head to Skidmore on Friday & Saturday where they will play non-conference matches against Fredonia State, New Paltz State and Potsdam State.

Men's Soccer Update (6-11-1, 3-4-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team dropped a pair of games last week to St. Joseph's and Stockton.

This week Farmingdale State hosts Yeshiva on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. for their final regular season game of the year.
