Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #5

- Sickles named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #5 on Monday, October 13, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team recorded a runner-up finish at the 11-team NYU/Manhattanville Fall Invitational held at Forest Hill Field Park in Bloomfield, N.J. Junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) shot rounds of 74 and 72 to finish in second place individually.

The Rams next will play in the Skyline Conference Championship at Bethpage State Park - Red Course on Sunday, October 19th and Monday, October 20th.

Women's Soccer Update (8-4-2, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC posted a 1-1 mark last week after an 8-0 win over Sarah Lawrence and a 4-0 loss at #17 TCNJ.

Freshman forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after scoring a pair of goals in the shutout victory over Sarah Lawrence.

This week the women's soccer team will play three games: Tuesday at Purchase @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday at St. Joe's @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday (senior day) home vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 1:00 p.m.

Women's Tennis Update (9-1, 4-0 Skyline) - Full Report

Last week the women's tennis team earned a pair of 9-0 Skyline victories over Purchase and Mount Saint Mary.

Senior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Sickles dropped just one game over four sets at the No. 1 singles position as Farmingdale State notched wins over Mount Saint Mary (9-0) and Purchase (9-0). She earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision versus MSMC and a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Purchase. Sickles also won a pair of matches at No. 1 doubles. She named the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

This week the Rams will travel to Sage on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.), Brooklyn on Thursday (4:30 p.m.) and host St. Joseph's on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer Update (5-8-1, 2-2-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team was 1-0-1 last week with a 0-0 tie at Maritime and a 6-0 home win over Sarah Lawrence.

Junior midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after scoring two goals in the victory over Sarah Lawrence.

Farmingdale State will travel to Old Westbury on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. and Sage on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Update (9-17, 3-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team recorded a 2-2 record last week with victories over York (NY) and Purchase.

Junior outside Karen Ulysse (West Hempstead,N.Y.) led the Rams with 27 kills, 24 digs and eight aces on the week.

The Rams next will host Staten Island on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

At last weekend's CCNY Invitational, the men finished in 7th and the women placed 10th.

Sophomore Jacob Kashani (Roslyn, N.Y.) led the men's team with an 18th place finish, while freshman Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) took 28th place for the women.

The cross country teams next will head to Sunken Meadow State Park for the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday, October 18th.
