Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men’s golf team hosted their Skyline Fall Invitational this afternoon on the Bethpage State Park - Red Course in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams posted a team-total of 297 and earned a nine stroke victory over runner-up St. Joseph’s.
Farmingdale State’s Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.),
Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.), Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge,
N.Y.) and James O’Hara (Floral Park, N.Y.) along with Robbie
Bray of St. Joe’s all posted rounds of 74. The five players
went to a sudden death playoff with the order of holes being 1, 4,
2, 3.
Pollock and Sessions each made a par four on the first hole
and advanced. Both players recorded pars on the next two holes,
before another par led Sessions to victory on the fourth playoff
hole.
Senior Rocco Costa (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Matt
Burnett (Farmingdale, N.Y.) each carded rounds of 75 for the
Rams.
Purchase College (317) finished in third place, while The Sage
Colleges (325) took fourth.
The Rams next will travel to the Powelton Club in Newburgh,
N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary College Fall Invitational on Friday,
October 3rd.
