Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #1

- Signore Named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #1 on Monday, September 15, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Tennis Update (3-0, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team continued their success from a year ago as they have started out the 2014 season with a perfect 3-0 record. The Rams earned non-conference victories over John Jay, William Paterson and Hunter.

Sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Signore went 3-0 at the No. 2 singles flight as Farmingdale State registered victories over Hunter (9-0), William Paterson (7-2) and John Jay (8-1). Her 6-1, 6-1 win on Sept. 6 was part of the Rams' first-ever victory over William Paterson. Signore also notched a pair of wins in doubles action.

This week FSC will travel to Ramapo on Wednesday (Sept. 17) at 5:00 p.m., host Oneonta on Saturday (Sept. 20) at 1:00 p.m. and play host to Yeshiva on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Soccer Update (2-2-1, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In the first two weeks of the season, the Rams have registered non-conference wins at Skidmore and Western Connecticut State.

Freshman forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll after leading Farmingdale State in goals (3) and points (6). She scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Skidmore and added a pair of goals in the 3-1 win at Western Connecticut State.

This week the women's soccer team will host Stevens on Wednesday (Sept. 17) at 4:00 p.m. and travel to Scranton on Saturday (Sept. 20) at 3:30 p.m. and Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The Rams have won their first two events of the fall season. Farmingdale State earned a 53 shot victory over St. Joe's in a dual match and Montauk Downs and followed with a 33 stroke win at the Golden Eagle Invitational.

The golf team next will travel to Tallgrass Golf Club in Shoreham, N.Y. for Dowling College September Shootout on Sunday, September 21st and Monday, September 22nd.

Women's Volleyball Update (5-8, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team has played 13 matches thus far this season and holds a 5-8 record.

Sophomore middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. She leads the team with a .228 attack percentage, 36 aces, 17 solo blocks and 21 block assists (38 total blocks). She posted double-digit kills in three matches and a career-high eight aces in the Rams' win against Centenary. Cadle-Hinton was named to the All-Tournament Team at the recent Purchase Invite.

This week FSC will host William Paterson on Thursday (Sept. 18) at 7:00 p.m. before hosting their Skyline Play Date on Sunday, September 21st.

Men's Soccer Update (2-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams opened the 2014 season with a 2-1 double overtime victory at 12th-ranked Stevens on August 29th. Farmingdale State added a 5-1 non-conference win over Cairn and now stand at 2-5 on the year.

This week the men's soccer team will begin Skyline play as they head to Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, September 20th at 3:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

In two events this season, the men's team has recorded a fifth place finish at the St. John's/Hofstra Fall Invitational and a 12th place finish at the LIU Post Invitational. The women took fourth at the St. John's/Hofstra Fall Invitational and 12th at the LIU Post Invitational.

This week the Rams will compete at the Bard College Invitational on Saturday, September 20th.
