Montauk, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team opened the 2014 fall season with a 36-hole dual match versus St. Joseph's College at Montauk Downs State Park. After this afternoon's first round, the Rams hold a 32 stroke lead.
Sophomore Andrew Goldman (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with an opening round of 1-over par 73. Senior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) carded a 77, while junior Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) shot a 79 for the Rams.
The Golden Eagles were led by John Melandro who fired a team-best round of 78.
Tomorrow's final round with begin at 9:00 a.m.
