Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team shot an opening round of 308 and trails Dowling College by seven strokes after the first round of the FSC Spring Invitational at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course.

The Rams were led by sophomore Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) who is in third place individually after a first round 74. Junior Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) fired a 77, while sophomore Chris Brosi (Stony Brook, N.Y.) carded a 78. Senior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) posted a day one 79 for Farmingdale State.

Dowling's Kurt Brey and Rob Bass of Cabrini are tied for the lead after shooting two over par 72's.

SUNY Delhi (310) is in third place and St. Joseph's (312) is currently in fourth.

Sunday's final round will begin at 9:00 a.m.
