Rams Fall by Two Strokes After Record Setting Day

Orlando, Fla. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team played their first match of the spring season and posted a 1-over par total of 289 at Crooked Cat Golf Course this afternoon. The Rams set a school record for their lowest team total in relation to par but fell by two strokes to Luther College.

Senior Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) finished in second place after firing a career-best 2-under par round of 70. Kelly played the front nine at even par and posted a 34 on the back. Senior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) was tied for fourth with an even par 72, while sophomore Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) shot 73. Sophomore Chris Brosi (Stony Brook, N.Y.) posted a 74 and both Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) and Rocco Costa (Massapequa, N.Y.) shot 75's for Farmingdale State.

Luther College's Tobi Kohl was the medalist with a 4-under par 68, while Andrew Peter (71) finished in third place.

The Rams next will travel to Rock Hill Country Club for the 10th Annual Peter King Memorial Tournament hosted by Dowling College on Friday, March 28th and Saturday, March 29th.
