Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #6

- Signore named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #6 on Monday, October 7, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

 

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The men's and women's teams each finished in ninth place at the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational held at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y. Freshmen Jacob Kashani (Roslyn, N.Y.) and Kristen Starke (Bellmore, N.Y.) were each named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Kashani finished in 33rd place with a time of 31:34 and Starke took 36th in 23:44.

The cross country teams next will travel to Van Cortlandt Park for the CCNY Invitational on Sunday, October 13th.

 

Women's Tennis Update (6-2, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams shutout Mount Saint Mary College, 9-0, in their lone match last week. Freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Signore posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 2 singles flight and teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. This is the third time she was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week this season. Junior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after a 6-2, 6-2 win at #1 singles and an 8-5 first doubles victory.

The women's tennis team next will travel to St. Joe's for a Skyline match on Thursday, October 10th at 5:00 p.m. and host Nassau CC in a scrimmage on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

 

Men's Golf Update

Farmingdale State captured the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational as they tied the school record with a team-total of 292. Senior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) and sophomore Scott Sessions (Pleasantville, N.Y.) each posted one-over 71's but Larkin was the named the champion after winning on the second playoff hole.

The Rams finished in fifth place out of eight teams with a total of 300 at the rain shortened Hamilton College Invitational.

This week the men's golf team will travel to Island Hills Country Club for the St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational on Thursday, October 10th.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (7-16, 4-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams picked up wins over Old Westbury (3-2) and Yeshiva (3-1) at the Yeshiva University Skyline Conference play date on Sunday.

Junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and freshman middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) were each named to the Honor Roll. Palladino amassed 17 kills, 20 aces and 16 digs, while Cadle-Hinton led the team with 22 kills.

This week the women's volleyball team will travel to York (NY) on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. before heading to Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday. At the MSMC play date, the Rams will face Mount Saint Mary at 10:00 a.m. and Mount Saint Vincent at noon.

 

Women's Soccer Update (6-7, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's soccer team posted a 1-1 mark on the week. Farmingdale State defeated Mount Saint Vincent 1-0 in a conference game on Wednesday and fell 4-0 at Williams on Saturday.

Freshman defender Alexa Orlando (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll. She scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Mount Saint Vincent.

This week the Rams will host St. Joe's on Friday, October 11th at 3:00 p.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (5-6, 1-2 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State spilt a pair of Skyline games this week after defeating Yeshiva 3-0 and falling to Old Westbury, 1-0.

The men's soccer team next will host Maritime on Wednesday, October 9th at 4:00 p.m. and NYU-Poly on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
