Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #3

- Signore named Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 16, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The cross country team competed at the LIU Post Invitational on Saturday. The men finished in 10th place, while the women finished 12th. Sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) placed 50th of 111 for the men in 28:44.93 and senior Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) placed 38th of 115 in 21:07.76.

Kohlman and Bonilla were each named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll.

This week the Rams will travel to the Bard College Invitational on Saturday, September 21st.

 

Women's Tennis Update (3-1, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams finished the week with a 2-1 record after recording home wins over Baruch (5-4) and Sage (7-2).

Freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Signore was a perfect 3-0 in the number two singles position. She notched straight-set victories against Sage (6-0, 6-2) and CSI (6-0, 6-3) and earned a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over Baruch.

Sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after posting a 3-0 mark at No. 3 doubles and captured two-of-three singles matches.

This week the women's tennis team will play a non-conference match at Hunter on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

 

Women's Soccer Update (3-3, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win on Wednesday over Western Connecticut before falling 1-0 to #7 The College of New Jersey on Saturday.

Freshman midfielder Ashley Appel (Bellmore, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal versus Western Connecticut and was named to the Honor Roll.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Stevens for a non-conference game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. before hosting Scranton on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

 

Men's Soccer Update (1-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

In Farmingdale State's lone game last week the Rams fell 2-0 to non-conference opponent William Paterson. Senior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after recording a season-high 11 saves.

This week the men's soccer team will travel to Brooklyn College on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and then open Skyline play at Purchase on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

 

Women's Volleyball Update (1-11, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams earned their first win of the season after defeating Centenary 3-1 at the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Ramapo College.

Junior outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after compiling 100 assists, 36 kills, 33 digs and 21 service aces over 24 sets.

This week they host Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., Maritime on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and then travel to Carnegie Mellon for four non-conference matches on Friday and Saturday.

 

Men's Golf Update

The golf team did not compete last week and next will travel to Long Island National Golf Club for the Dowling College Shootout on Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st.
