DestinFla. - Junior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) is tied for seventh place individually after an even par 72 in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division III National Golf Championships held at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Farmingdale State is currently in 24th place out of 41 competing teams.

Larkin was 4-over through eight and holed out from 65 yards for an eagle on the par 5 ninth hole. After a birdie on 10, Larkin birdied the 16th hole and closed with pars on the final two holes for a round of 72.

Junior Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) carded a 4-over par 76 for the Rams and is tied for 48th place individually.

Host school Methodist University (+2, 290) leads by two strokes over Transylvania (+4, 288) and Texas Tyler (+5, 293) is in third place.

Methodist's Jeff Wells (-3, 69) leads by three strokes as Larkin is three shots back.

Farmingdale State will begin second round play tomorrow on the Raven Course at 12:50 p.m.
