2012 Men's Golf Fall Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team captured the Conference Championship for the fifth consecutive season earning the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III National Tournament. The Rams defeated runner-up The Sage College's by 43 strokes at the Championship held at Bethpage State Park - Red Course.

Junior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.), who shot a school record 68 in the final round, earned Player of the Year honors after a 10-shot victory over sophomore Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) at the Skyline Championship. Junior Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) finished in third place and freshman Chris Brosi (Stony Brook, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Year honors after a fourth place finish.

The Rams finished tied for second place at the Manhattanville/NYU Fall Invitational held at Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. Larkin led Farmingdale State with two rounds of 75 and a third place finish individually. 

At the Farmingdale State Skyline Invitational on Bethpage Red, the Rams defeated runner-up St. Joseph's by 15 strokes. Larkin (73) earned medalist honors after a 1-hole playoff victory over Pollock. The Rams also captured the St. Joseph's College Invitational at Islands Hills Country Club by eight strokes after a team-total of 294.

In the first tournament of the season, Farmingdale State was the runner-up at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College at the Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course. The Rams posted a team-low 292 in the final round as Larkin again led the Rams with rounds of 74 and 72 for a fourth place finish.

The Rams will kick off their spring season in March with the annual trip to Orange County National Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
