Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - The Farmingdale State golf team posted a round one total of 323 and is tied for 31st place at the NCAA Division III National Championships held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Rams played the El Campeon course this afternoon and will begin play on Las Colinas tomorrow morning at 7:50 a.m.

Sophomore John Michael Haining (Hauppauge, N.Y.) carded a round of 77, while sophomore Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) shot a 78 for Farmingdale State. Freshman Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) posted an 82 despite two doubles and a triple bogey. 

Oglethorpe University leads the championship after a day one team-total of 285 (3-under par) and the Claremont Mudd Scripps are in second place, four strokes behind Oglethorpe.

Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia and Claremont's Brad Shigezawa each shot 4-under par 68's and hold a two stroke lead individually.
