Rams Hold Two Stroke Lead After Opening Round of Skyline Championships

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team shot a team total of 307 and holds a two stroke lead over The Sage Colleges after the first round of the Skyline Conference Golf Championships at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course.

The Rams were led by senior Chris Arnold (Hauppauge, N.Y.) who is in second place individually after shooting a team-low 75. Sophomore's Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) and Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.) each shot rounds of 77 (T5) and freshman Matt Pollock (Northport, N.Y.) carded an eight over par 78 for Farmingdale State.

Freshman Sean Sanders of St. Joseph's College holds a two stroke lead individually after shooting a 73 this afternoon. Sage's Zach Meade and Dan Schulz each posted rounds of 76 and are tied for third place. 

The first tee-time for tomorrow's final round is 9:00 a.m. The winning team will receive the Skyline Conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Championship held at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
