Rams Finish Fourth at Tim Brown Invitational

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team finished in fourth place on Monday at the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College held at the Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course. The Rams shot rounds of 306 and 326 in the one day, 36-hole tournament.

The Rams were led by sophomore Rich Kelly (Oceanside, N.Y.), who finished in a tie for 10th place individually with a two round total of 152. Kelly posted a 77 in the morning, before shooting a team-low 75 in the second round of the day. Senior Chris Arnold (Hauppauge, N.Y.) placed 16th after shooting rounds of 74 and 80.

Host school Skidmore College (19th ranked nationally) captured the team championship with a two round total of 583 (287-296). Rochester was the runner-up, finishing 19 strokes behind Skidmore.

Skidmore's Zach Grossman was the tournament medalist as he finished at four under par (67-73-140). Grossman finished one shot better than Grant Rosener of RPI.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Spring Lake Golf Club for the St. Joseph's Fall Invitational on Friday, September 16th.
