Rams Tied for 19th Place Heading into Final Round of NCAA’s

Hershey, Penn. - The Farmingdale State men’s golf team is currently in a tie for 19th place heading into the final round at the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Rams shot a third round team total of 306.

Sophomore Chris Arnold (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) shot a team-best three-over par 75 this afternoon. Seniors Andrew Schwartz (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) each posted rounds of 76. Schwartz sunk a 20 foot putt on 18 to finish his round off with a birdie. Maruyama is currently tied for 27th place individually at +10. Senior Matt Livolsi (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Sewanhaka) carded a 79 for Farmingdale State.

(1) Methodist University leads the team championship after a third round total of 287. Methodist stands at 24-over par through three rounds and leads second place (2) Huntingdon College by five strokes.

Claremont’s Tain Lee birdied two of the final three holes en route to an even par 72. Lee is five-under for the championship and holds a five stroke lead over Methodist’s Josh Schrader.
