
Maruyama Shoots 72 as Rams Capture Suffolk Invitational
Setauket, N.Y. – Senior Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) shot a tournament low two-over par 72 to capture medalist honors at the Suffolk Community College Invitational at St. George’s Country Club, in Setauket N.Y.
Senior Andrew Schwartz (Commack, N.Y./Commack) posted a 76, while senior Jim McLaughlin (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) pitched in with a 77 for Farmingdale State. Sophomore Chris Arnold (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) shot a 79, leading the Rams to a team score of 304 and a 34 stroke victory.
Suffolk’s Federico Matiz and Dowling’s Anthony Corzi each recorded rounds of 76, finishing in a tie for second place individually with Schwartz.
Farmingdale State will travel to the Links at Cherry Creek for the Manhattan College Classic on Friday, April 23rd.
