Maruyama Medalist as Rams Capture Centenary Invitational

High Bridge Hills Golf Club – Par 71 – 6,200 Yards

High Bridge, N.J. – Senior Masanao Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) was the tournament medalist after shooting a three-over par 74, leading Farmingdale State to victory at the Centenary College Invitational. The Rams posted a team score of 305.

Maruyama made the turn at four over par, but had birdies on 12, 13 and 15 enroute to 74. Senior Andrew Schwartz (Commack, N.Y./Commack) shot 75 (37-38) and senior Jim McLaughlin (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) carded a 77. Senior Larry Hipp (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) added a 79 for the Rams.

Chris Manzello shot a 75 leading St. Joseph’s College to a second place finish with a team total of 322. Host school Centenary College recorded 329 to take third place.

Farmingdale State now travels to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for the Skidmore College Invitational on Sunday, April 11th and Monday, April 12th.
