Rams Win Second Consecutive Skyline Golf Championship

East Meadow, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team won their second consecutive Skyline Conference Golf Championship this weekend at Eisenhower Park - Red Course, in East Meadow, N.Y.  The Rams defeated second place St. Joseph's College by 33 shots over the two-day championship tournament.

Senior Masanao Maruyama shot a one-over par 73 on day two, earning him co-champion honors with a two-day total of 150. Maruyama shared the individual championship with St. Joseph's College junior Matt Ranum, who posted rounds of 74 and 76. Ranum's 15 foot par putt on the 18th hole forced the tie. Farmingdale senior Matt Livolsi finished in third place individually and was named first-team All-Skyline after shooting rounds of 72 and 79. Farmingdale's Jim McLaughlin (4th - 152) and Chris Arnold (T5th - 155) were each named First-Team All-Conference. Senior Andrew Schwartz shot a four-over par 76 on day two, finishing in seventh place and earning Second-Team All- Conference Honors.

Farmingdale State earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Golf Championship on May 11-14th, 2010 at the Hershey Country Club, in Hershey, Penn.
