
Maruyama Makes Cut at NCAA's
Port St. Lucie, FL. - Junior Masanao Maruyama made the cut at the men's golf National Championship after posting a two-day total of 148 (+4, 70-78). He started his second round with a eagle two on the 400 yard par 4 first hole. Maruyama made the turn at one-over par for the round, but finished with a six-over 78.
The Rams struggled on day two, posting a team-score of 327. Farmingdale missed the cut by 14 strokes, finishing in 30th place as a team (633). La Verne University shot five-under par as a team in the second round, overtaking Methodist at the top of the leaderboard. La Verne is one-under through two rounds, holding a seven shot lead over Methodist and a 10 shot lead over third place Oglethorp University.
Mitchell Fedorka of La Verne is the individual leader at six-under par, followed by Rizal Amin (-3) and Washington and Lee's Joe Gibson (-1). Maruyama is in a tie for 26th place and currently 10 shots off the lead.
