
Rams Finish Second at Farmingdale Invitational
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State golf
team finished is second place at their invitational with a two day
team total of 611. Nassau Community College, who was six strokes
behind after day one, shot a tournament low 296 in the final round
to capture the team championship.
Junior Joe Russo (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) led the Rams with
two rounds of 75, placing him third individually. Junior Matt
Livolsi (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Sewanhaka) finished in fourth place
with a team-low 74 on day two, giving him a two-day total of 151.
Junior Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) shot two rounds of
77, while sophomore Jim McLaughlin (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) shot
back to back 78's, each earning top ten honors.
Nassau CC's Dan Carr (Westbury, N.Y./Chaminade) shot a three-over
par 70 in the final round, giving him medalist honors and a two-day
total of 144. Tournament runner-up Rob Pepi shot rounds of 76 and
70, leading the Lions to their third consecutive Farmingdale State
College Invitational victory.
Cabrini's Tim Harner shot rounds of 77 and 75, finishinginfifth
place individually and leading his team to a third place finish
(315-298-613). Rounding out the top ten were Conor Trainor (79-75),
Chris Lawler (78-77) and Mike Ryan (81-75), all from Cabrini
College.
The Rams next will play in the Long Island Intercollegiate at The
Bridge, in Bridgehampton, N.Y. on April 23rd and April 24th.
