Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Skidmore Invitational with a two-day team total of 654. The Rams shot an opening round 328, followed with a final round team total of 326. Host school Skidmore College was the team champion by 18 strokes over Hamilton College with two rounds of 311.

Farmingdale State was led by first round leader junior Masanao Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai), who shot a seven-over par 79 on day two to finish in a tie for third place individually. Maruyama was named to the Skidmore Invitational All-Tournament Team with his impressive performance in the cold and wind. Junior Matt Livolsi (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Sewanhaka) shot rounds of 80 and 78, earning him a spot in the top ten. Junior Larry Hipp, who was playing as an individual in the tournament, shot a 79 on day two for the Rams.

Skidmore's Chris DeJohn (Rocky Hill, Conn./Westminster School) was the medalist with a two-day total of 151 (77-74). L.J. Scurfield (Mechanicsburg, Penn./Cumberland Valley) was the tournament runner-up with rounds of 78 and 74, helping Hamilton College finish in second place as a team.

The Rams will host the Farmingdale State College Invitational at Bethpage State Park - Red Course on April 16th and 17th. The first tee time for Thursday's opening round is 11:40am.
