Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - On a cold and windy day, junior Masanao Maruyama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai) shot a four-over par 76 to lead the field after the first round of the Skidmore Invitational at Saratoga National Golf Club. Maruyama made the turn at one over par and shot a 38 on the back nine, finishing atop the field of 75 players.

Junior Matt Livolsi (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Sewanhaka) shot an 80 for Farmingdale State and is currently in a tie for 6th place, despite a double bogie five on the 18th hole. 

Farmingdale State is currently in 4th place as a team and trails host college Skidmore by 17 strokes. Two players from Skidmore shot opening rounds of 77 and trail Maruyama by one stroke. The Rams tee off tomorrow morning at 10:00 am.
