The Farmingdale State men's golf team won their second Skyline Conference Championship in the last three years, receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships. This years championship will be held at the PGA Village located in Port St. Lucie, Florida on May 13-16, 2009.

The Rams placed all five players in the top-10 and finished 30 strokes ahead of second place St. Joseph's College to capture the conference title. Junior Matt Livolsi was the individual champion after recording a two-day total of 145 (72-73). Sophomore Masanao Maruyama was the tournament runner-up after shooting scores of 77 and 71, while freshman Chris Arnold placed third individually with a two-day total of 149 (76-73). Farmingdale shot a school record 295 on day-two of the championship.

In the fall, the Rams participated in six events and were not defeated by a single Division III school. At the Hofstra invitational in October, Farmingdale finished in second place behind only Division II Adelphi College. The Rams shot a team-total of 328 placing them ahead of Division I St. Peter's College, Hofstra and Sacred Heart University as well as two-time defending JUCO National Champion Nassau Community College.

Maruyama was the medalist at the Yeshiva University Invitational after shooting a seven-over par 78. Maruyama and teammate Chris Arnold were co-champions at the Polytechnic Invitational, both players recorded six-over par 77's. Livolsi led the team with second place finishes at the Bethpage Quad-Match and the St. Joseph's Invitational as well as taking fourth place at the Polytechnic Invitational.

The Rams look foward to a spring season in which they will be traveling to Orange County National Golf Club for their spring-trip and also participating in three two-day events. In the month of April, Farmingdale will be traveling to Saratoga National Golf Club for the Skidmore Invitational, The Bridge for the Long Island Intercollegiate and will be hosting the Farmingdale Invitational at Bethpage State Park - Red Course.
