
Rams Finish Second at Hofstra Invitational

Garden City, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
men’s golf team placed second at the Hofstra Invitational
this afternoon at Garden City Golf Club in Garden City, N.Y. The
Rams were led by Masanao Mauryama (Yamanashi, Japan/Sundai), who
shot an 8-over par 78. Mauryama made the turn at 7-over, but
rallied to shoot a one-over par 36 on the back nine, placing him
third overall for the tournament.
Joshua Hamlett of Adelphi University was the medalist, posting a three-over par 73. Brant Kummerfeld shot a 76 helping Adelphi win by 14 strokes, with a team total of 314.
Farmingdale State’s Matt Livolsi (Stewart Manor, NY/Sewanhaka) shot an 82 placing him in a tie for 10th, Rob Barnes (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) posted an 83 finishing him in a tie for 14th place overall. As a team, the Rams finished with a total of 328 strokes.
The Rams next travel to Panther Valley Golf Club on Tuesday, October 21st for the Centenary Invitational.
