Nassau CC Captures Farmingdale Invitational with Record Setting Performance

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Nassau Community College easily captured the Farmingdale State College Golf Invitational played this past Thursday-Friday at Bethpage State Park's Red Course. Nassau shot a school record 286 on Thursday and posted a 300 on Friday for a two-day total of 586, defeating second place Farmingdale State College (310-318) by 42 strokes.

Nassau CC freshman Colin Dolph won the individual championship shooting two-over par 142 for the Tournament with scores of 70 and 72. Nassau's Juan Sanchez finished second individually (147) while teammate Jonathan Edwards placed third with a total of 148. All five of Nassau players finished in the top six, as Oliver Hudesman (5th place – 153) and Matthew Livolsi (tied for 6th place – 154) rounded out their impressive team performance.

Second place Farmingdale had three players finish in the top ten, led by sophomore Andrew Schwartz (Commack, N.Y./Commack), who posted rounds of 75 and 77. Junior Kyle Havas (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) finished tied for 6th after rounds of 75-79 while Senior Ryan Williams (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke) placed 8th with a two-day total of 157 (78-79). St. Joseph's had two players round out the top ten individually, as Chris Manzello (9th place – 159) and Mike Keaveny (10th place – 161) led the Golden eagles to a third place team finish.
