Golf End of Season Report

The Men’s Golf team had a successful fall season placing 2nd in the Skyline Championship and 3rd at the ECAC Metro Qualifier. The Rams defeated conference opponents Kings Point, Yeshiva, Centenary and St. Joseph’s during regular season matches.

The Rams started off the season placing 4th of 8 teams in the first annual Long Island Shootout held at the Long Island National Golf Club, where Rich Martin shot a team-low 78. Farmingdale hosted the ECAC Qualifier at Bethpage State Park where the Ram’s score of 343 finished just behind conference opponent Manhattanville (322), who came in 2nd and qualified for the ECAC Championship at Saratoga State Park.

Sophomore Rob Catalfomo (North Merrick, NY) had an impressive season as he set a school record of 1 under par 70 at Tall Grass Country Club on October 24, 2003. Rob also qualified as an individual in the ECAC Qualifier at Bethpage State Park, where he shot a team low 81. Joe Regan (Northport, NY) and Justin Venezia (Farmingdale, NY) both shot an 88 in the Skyline Championship at Engineers Country Club to lead the Rams to their 2nd place finish. Sophomore Charlie Spahr had a solid fall, including an 82 at Bethpage State Park Red Course, as well as a 6-over par 77 at Tall Grass Country Club.

The Rams resume during the spring season, which begins in March of 2004.
