COMPLETE ABCA/RAWLINGS RELEASE
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams were recently released, and Farmingdale State College senior right fielder Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.) has been named First Team All-Region by D3baseball.com, as well as Second Team All-Region by ABCA. Teammate and senior right-hander Johnny Dougherty (Kings Park, N.Y.) earned Third Team honors by D3baseball.com.
Pollock recorded the best offensive season in program history posting a .400 batting average with eight doubles, seven triples, 12 home runs and 39 runs batted in. He led the Nation in slugging percentage with a 1.011 and was 40th for total home runs, both which set single-season school records. He also finished 12th in the NCAA for triples and was sixth for triples per game (0.21). In the Skyline, he led in Slugging % and OBP+SLG (1.511), ranked second for both home runs and triples, was fifth in batting average, sixth for on-base percentage (.500) and 12th for walks (20).
Dougherty pitched in 11 games this season, with seven starts and ranked second in the Skyline Conference with a 2.66 earned run average in 40.2 innings pitched. He was also third in the conference for strikeouts looking (16), fifth for wins (5) and least hits allowed (41), seventh for opposing batting average (.256) and 10th for total strikeouts (44). Dougherty finished 19th in the Nation for strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.29) and was 74th for ERA.
