AUBURNDALE, Fla. | The Farmingdale State College baseball team wrapped up play this week at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Rams fell in a doubleheader to Minnesota-Morris on Monday, before dropping a Tuesday decision to Oneonta and losing to No. 13 Denison in FSC's finale on Wednesday afternoon.

Monday, March 13

Minnesota-Morris swept the teams' twinbill, earning an 8-3 triumph in the opener before securing an 11-6 decision in the nightcap.

In the first game, seven different Rams rapped base hits, including a triple by junior first baseman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.), and a two-run single in the sixth inning by junior outfielder Kyle Dorset (Freeport, N.Y.). Lambert came home following his three-bagger in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly to right field by senior Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.), before both players scored on Dorset's single up the middle in the sixth frame.

Freshman righty Giovanni Cassino (Miller Place, N.Y.) tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to close out the contest for Farmingdale State, scattering two hits while striking out three.

FSC battled back from deficits of 3-0 and 6-2 to knot the game at 6-6 in the top of the sixth frame of the nightcap. They used two-run innings in both the third and sixth sandwiching one run each in the fourth and fifth.

Junior outfielder Daniel Molina (East Meadow, N.Y.) scored runs in the third and sixth innings, with the latter coming on a two-run error on a dropped fly ball that also plated freshman Ryan Wasserman (New Hyde Pk., N.Y.) to level the contest at 6-all.

Seven different Rams picked up one hit each in game two, with junior Daniel Deutsch (Northport, N.Y.) collecting an RBI ground out to plate freshman Joshua Andrechuk (Holbrook, N.Y.) prior to Molina scoring on a wild pitch. Wasserman scored two runs in the contest, as well.

Tuesday, March 14

Oneonta defeated Farmingdale State by an 8-0 margin. Wasserman went 2-for-4 at the dish, with Lambert and senior Louis Annunziata (Howard Beach, N.Y.) notching one double apiece.

Wednesday, March 15

The Rams used a two-run bottom of the seventh inning to go ahead by a 2-1 margin over the 13th-ranked Big Red on Wednesday. Pollock's triple to center field scored Lambert two batters into the frame, before Pollock gave FSC the lead on a squeeze bunt in a pinch-hitting plate appearance by sophomore Justin DiMartino (Bethpage, N.Y.).

In the top of the eighth with the bases loaded and two outs, Denison beat out an infield single to knot the score at 2-2, before hitting a bases-clearing double to take a three-run advantage at 5-2.

The Big Red added a run in the ninth as they went on for the 6-2 victory.

Farmingdale State received a strong start on the hill by senior righty and All-American Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.), who scattered four hits and one earned run with striking out five in his 83-pitch five innings of work.

Farmingdale State now returns home and will play non-conference opponent John Jay on Thursday, March 23rd at 4:00 p.m. before opening their Skyline Conference schedule on March 26th against Mount Saint Vincent.
