COMPLETE D3BASEBALL.COM 2023 PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | D3baseball.com released its 2023 Preseason All-America Team recently, and Farmingdale State College senior right-handed pitcher Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.) has been named to the publication's Second Team.
Clancy was a third-team All-America choice by D3baseball.com and the ABCA/Rawlings in 2022, after winning the Skyline Conference's Pitcher of the Year award. The first-team All-Region III and Pitcher of the Year selection compiled a Rams single-season record 85 strikeouts over 66 innings pitched, while posting a 9-1 record and two saves over his 13 appearances (nine starts). Clancy ranked No. 3 in Division III in WHIP (0.77), and ninth in both strikeouts per nine innings pitched (10.62) and earned-run average (1.64). He enters the 2023 campaign with the FSC career record for strikeouts per nine innings pitched (10.85), while his strikeouts (139) and ERA (2.50) rank fifth and eighth, respectively.
Head coach Keith Osik's Farmingdale State team is scheduled to kick off its 2023 season Feb. 25 (Sat.), when it plays host to a doubleheader against the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
