Dallas Leads Rams to Skyline Sweep at Purchase

Purchase, N.Y. - Freshman shortstop Patrick Dallas (Patchogue, N.Y.) went 8-for-10 at the plate with five runs scored and two runs batted in this afternoon in Farmingdale State's doubleheader sweep at Purchase. FSC improved to 19-11 overall and 11-5 in the Skyline Conference with the wins.

In the first game, the Rams scored runs in the second through sixth innings as they went on for an 11-1 victory.

Dallas led the way with four hits, a double and two runs scored. Freshman left fielder Justin DiMartino (Bethpage, N.Y.) recorded two hits, a triple and a game-high three runs batted in, while sophomore first baseman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 with a walk and one run batted in. Senior center fielder Vincent Napolitano (Bellmore, N.Y.) had two hits, a walk and two runs scored and senior second baseman Michael Iacobellis (Seaford, N.Y.) registered a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.

Sophomore catcher Aidan Hutchins (Wading River, N.Y.), junior third baseman Nolan White (Miller Place, N.Y.) and sophomore second baseman Daniel Molina (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) added a hit and an RBI apiece.

Senior pitcher Stephen Clancy (Mineola, N.Y.) picked up the win to improve to 7-1 on the year after tossing his third complete game. He struck out 10 batters and allowed just four hits and one run. Clancy has registered 9+ strike outs in each of his last three outings.

The Rams earned a 14-2 run-rule victory in the second game as Napolitano tallied five hits, including two doubles and a triple, to go along with three runs batted in and two runs scored. Napolitano is just the seventh player in school history to record 5+ hits in a single game.

Dallas went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in and three runs scored, while Lambert produced two hits, a walk, two runs batted in and two runs scored. DiMartino went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, Molina notched two hits, a run and three runs scored, and sophomore first baseman Richard Apollo Jr. (Seaford, N.Y.) registered two hits, a walk, stolen base and an RBI. 

White had a hit, two walks and a run scored, while junior right fielder Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.) added a hit and two runs batted in.

On the mound, Lambert (W, 3-2) threw seven innings with three strike outs to earn the win.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Skyline opponent Merchant Marine for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30th at noon.
